Poncho is a pampered 4-year-old Chihuahua that sleeps in a cupboard under the stairs in the home of his owner, Betty McCall of Pitts, Georgia. McCall transformed the space under the staircase into a bedroom complete with a tiny gold-framed bed, a chest of drawers, a rug, and a hat stand.

Will Rigdon told Bored Panda that "When my aunt was building her new house after retiring from 30 years of teaching, my other two aunts basically forced her to decorate a room for a dog." But who would have thought that the room would be reminiscent of Harry Potter's bedroom at the Dursley home?

Unlike Harry Potter, Poncho has everything that a dog can ever dream of. Aside from an elegant bed and something to eat and drink, there are also toys available. An artwork by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge titled "A Friend in Need" also hangs on the bedroom wall. The mini-mansion is accessible via a large door and a window turned into a miniature doggy door.

McCall revealed during an interview that Poncho often gets nervous, especially around crowds and loud noises, so he often escapes to his room. Aside from playing with his toys, he also enjoys playing with his very own grand piano. The owner said she found a small piano and other fun decorations at a yard sale.

When McCall's nephew revealed how Poncho got his Harry Potter themed bedroom, the story immediately went viral on Imgur. People on social media then began to praise Poncho's canine space, and some have even dubbed him as the "dog Harry Potter."

McCall said that she did not intend for Poncho's bedroom to resemble Harry Potter's. But now that she thinks of it, Poncho does look like a house elf.
