Pokemon Go's “Buddy Pokemon” system is here.
The "Buddy Pokemon" system is here and many players eager to know about the different things that the feature would allow them to do.
The "Buddy Pokemon" system lets a player select a Pokémon that would appear on the player's profile screen, beside the trainer's avatar, CNET reported. This cool buddy finds candy as one walks with it and the candies can be used to power up the Pokémon or help it evolve. As for the buddy walking alongside the player's avatar, the answer is no. It only appears at the end of the screen as the avatar's face icon on the avatar information screen.

Selecting a buddy is completely up to one's discretion, but one must exercise caution and go for the one that would need candy. For example, if there is a Pokémon in need of a few more candies to evolve then it makes sense to choose it as a buddy. To select, just tap on the photo of the trainer avatar, in the lower left-hand side of the screen, then on the menu button, followed by buddy option and then on the Pokémon that one wants as a buddy.
As far as getting candy is concerned, to make it possible, one has to keep the game's screen open, in the foreground. Reports from iTech Post suggests that one can collect candy as one walks and for the common Pokémon, the distance covered is less, but the rare ones demand more walking. Nevertheless, one gets only one candy after a fixed distance, specified for a Pokémon.
With the help of the Buddy option, one can also check one's progress. One can see the kilometers one has already walked and how much one needs to cover more. The moment a player completes the requisite amount of walking, he/she will get a notification on the screen that his/her buddy has found candy. Last but not the least, while changing to a new buddy, one should be careful and do so just when one has found a candy with the current buddy.
