1. Active Denial System: This directed energy weapon has been used for a variety of defense purposes like crowd control and perimeter control. The weapon, which is commonly referred to as a heat gun, was deployed in 2010 in Afghanistan and was fairly successful.
2. Autonomous Weapon Systems: These remotely-controlled weapons, which are unmanned, save soldiers' lives by replacing them with robots. The military mechatronics gun is a fine example. These weapons have been used in rescue and defense operations.
3. Electromagnetic Railgun: This projectile launcher uses a pair of parallel conductors. These guns do not need to be mounted with explosives and cause damage with electromagnetic energy.
4. LaWS: This Laser Weapon System developed by the US Navy was field tested in 2014. It releases infrared beam to destroy a target or disable a projectile
5. Metal Storm Sentry Gun: This automatically-firing gun acts like a sentry to guard a perimeter and starts firing automatically when motion is detected.
6. Fast Firing Gun: This gun works on the basis of an electronic emission system. It is regarded as the most powerful automatic gun in the world.
7. Corner Shot: This gun accessory was developed for special forces. The corner shot is used as a periscope and allows shooters to hit difficult targets without exposing themselves.
8. DREAD Silent Weapon System: This system works on the principle of propulsion using electrical energy and can fire 120 rounds per minute.
9. Aurora Excaliber: This UAV carries a payload and can carry out decisive strikes against enemy targets very precisely.
10. MAYHEM (Magneto Hydrodynamic Explosive Munition): This weapon causes mayhem since it uses molten metal to pierce enemy armor and solid structures otherwise impermeable.
