It is unclear when Snapchat's Spectacles would hit the market.
Snapchat is rumored to be working on a secret sunglasses project. A recently leaked video seems to confirm these talks.
This is Snapchat's first attempt to break into the burgeoning wearable technology market. The eye glass appears to have a camera built into it.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the glasses, called 'Spectacles' was introduced by the company's CEO Evan Spiegel to a select group of audience. The plain looking glasses come with a camera which is capable of recording 10-second video clips. Each tap on the glasses will record a new clip.
The glasses is available only in one size. However, customers have the option of choosing between black, coral or teal colors. Spiegel explained that the technology used by glasses allows for 115-degree angle lens, which closely resembles the human eyes' natural field of view.
A video showing the glasses was posted on YouTube. However, it was taken down after Snapchat made a copyright complaint.
It is unclear when Snapchat's Spectacles would hit the market. However, Spiegel told The Wall Street Journal that the product would be rolled out slowly. It is likely to have limited distribution and is not expected to generate a significant amount of revenue.
Snapchat is looking to reinvent itself and diversify its portfolio. The company recently renamed itself Snap Inc. to signify its aspirations beyond the Snapchat app. Snapchat famously declined a $3 billion takeover offer from Facebook in 2013.
