While this accident was caused by human error, Google does not have a completely clean record when it comes to autonomous vehicles. Earlier this year, a Google self-driving car hit the side of a bus in a low-speed accident.

According to Tech Crunch, the guidelines stressed that technology companies should prioritize safety. The guidelines also ask for data sharing with government and other authorities.
