Amazon's new Alexa-enabled Fire TV stick costs $40.
Amazon has upped the ante in the video streaming segment with the introduction of its new Alexa-enabled Fire TV stick. The new streamer comes with a quad-core processor. The stick is bundled with a remote control which lets users voice search for programs to watch.
Amazon's new Fire TV stick looks similar to its predecessor. However, it packs more powerful specs. Apart from its quad-core processor, the stick also boasts of 802.11ac Wi-Fi support. Amazon claims that these changes can enhance the speed of the new stick by up to 30 percent.

The biggest selling point of new Fire TV stick is its accompanying remote control which uses Amazon's Alexa service. The remote control can be used to find any content with the flick of a button and a voice command. It can also be used for various other purposes such as checking the weather or ordering food.
Amazon's Fire TV stick comes with new features an old price tag of $40. It does not support HDR or 4K playback. The new stick will start shipping by the end of October. Amazon will offer $65 media buying credits if the new stick is activated before the end of October.
The video streaming segment is heating up as recently Roku announced a portfolio of upgraded streamers. The range starts with the Roku Express Box, which is priced at $30. Google is expected to unveil a new Chromecast at its upcoming October 4 event. It is likely that the Chromecast will be known as Chromecast Ultra and will feature 4K video streaming support.
