Google Android Wear 2.0 will be launched early next year.
The launch of Google Android Wear 2.0 has been pushed to early next year. The device was originally scheduled to be launched this fall.
However, the company has extended the developer preview program by releasing the third preview. Google expects to fine-tune the software using developers' feedback before its final launch. It also plans to launch another preview edition by the end of this year.

The latest developer preview of the Android Wear 2.0 comes with various updates. It incorporates the Google Play Store. The integration allows for downloading apps directly to the watch. Earlier, apps had to be downloaded to the phone and then ported to the watch. With the new build, developers can write the apps exclusively for Android Wear.
The latest preview also adds permission requests for watch complications. Developers now need to place the request before the watch face can receive complication data. Developers can also set default complications. Apart from this, the new build comes with enhanced WearableRecyclerView, which allows developers to customize vertical lists for round shaped displays.
The new API simplifies the process of acting on a notification from the steam. Developers can customize which actions to be displayed inline at the bottom. Another feature Smart Reply generates responses for notifications. These responses are generated by an on-watch machine learning model, bypassing the requirement of uploading the data to the cloud.
Google unveiled Android Wear 2.0 at its Google I/O conference. The company stressed that the delay is not due to any hardware issue. All Google's wearable devices launched this fall will get the Android Wear 2.0 once it is launched.
