In Russia, Apple Pay is currently collaborating with major retailers such as Auchan, Media Markt, Magnit, and Azbuka Vkusa as well as authorized Apple reseller in Russia, re:Store. Apple plans to extend the service to Burger King and Eldorado soon.
Apple has been consistently expanding its payment service. Earlier this year, the service was rolled out in Switzerland. This year, Apple also extended its backend integration to major banking companies in Canada.
Earlier this year, Apple CEO Tim Cook claims that Apple Pay accounts for three-quarter of the total contactless payments made in the US.
There are rumors that the company is looking to capture the Taiwanese. The launch is likely to take place early next year. Another potential market for Apple Pay is Kenya. If things work out, Kenya will be the first African market for Apple Pay. Kenya already has an established mobile payment market.
