Xiaomi Mi 5 Will Be Released On February 8
The Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone is expected to arrive in two variants. One would be rolled out as regular edition whereas the other one would be a premium device.
One of the editions of the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be arriving with a 5.2-inch screen. It will carry support for full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. As far as the design of the handset is concerned, it will be sporting 2.5D curved glass on both rear and front sides, Giz China reported.

It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and 3 GB of RAM. The inbuilt storage of this device will be 32 GB.
The other variant is dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus as it is expected to feature premium features. First of all, this variant will be arriving with a unibody metal design. Like the regular model, it will also sport a 5.2-inch display. However, instead of full HD resolution, it will carry support for Quad HD resolution.
The alleged Mi 5 Plus will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset. It will be supported by 4 GB and is expected to arrive with a native storage of 64 GB, International Business Times reported.
The remaining specifications of the Xiaomi MI 5 include a rear-facing camera of 16 MP. It will arrive with Optical Image Stabilization feature. The front is likely to feature a 13 MP. The physical Home button placed below the display will come embedded with a fingerprint sensor.
Both the variants are expected to arrive preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS that will be overlaid with Xiaomi's MIUI 7.0 UI. It will be packed with a battery of 3600 mAh capacity.
In the past too, the rumor mill has been suggesting that Xiaomi will be launching two editions of Mi 5, a regular model with Xiaomi Mi 5 moniker and a premium variant that will carry Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus moniker. However, the Chinese manufacturer has not revealed any information of its much awaited flagship smartphone.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 release date has not been revealed yet. However, the rumor mill is claiming that that the Mi 5 smartphone will be announced as early as Jan. 21. It is speculated to be available for purchase from Feb. 8.
