Samsung also asked Galaxy Note 7 users to immediately stop using the device because of "continued safety concerns."
"Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note 7 or replacement Galaxy Note 7 device should power down and stop using the device and take advantage of the remedies available," it said.

Samsung, which launched the Galaxy Note 7 in August, decided to recall 2.5 million units of the smartphone in September amid reports that some of the handsets caught fire while charging. Initially, the company downplayed the firing incidents, blaming it on a "rare technical error" with the device's battery and announced a replacement program. However, the was company forced to suspend the production of the Galaxy Note 7 after reports that some of the replacement units have also caught fire like the original models.
