Charlie Sheen is taking his HIV medications again after going off them while trying an alternative treatment in Mexico. On January 12, Tuesday, the Hollywood actor appeared on "The Dr. Oz Show" to share that he had discontinued his HIV medicines, but his manager reported that since the episode was taped last month Sheen was back on his prescription meds.

One month ago the episode was taped on December 8. Sheen's manager Mark Burg told People that since then his client had start taking his HIV medications again.

Burg said that Sheen had tried an alternative medicine from a doctor in Mexico. However, when his health worsened he went back on his anti-viral medications.

In a pre-taped clip for "Dr. Oz" Sheen revealed that he had been off his meds for around one week. However, he explained during the interview that he was not pleased about some blood test results since then.

Sheen told Dr. Mehmet Oz that he received the blood tests just before he had walked onto the TV set. He was disappointed and reported he was off his game. Sheen described his use of alternative medicine as an "experiment" and a "different path."

The disease had been non-detectable before he tried the new treatment. However, signs of the HIV virus were showing up again.

Sheen admitted that he was risking his life by going off his meds, but did not care. He said that he was "born dead."

Sheen reported that he was receiving an HIV treatment from Dr. Sam Chachoua. However, Oz reported that Chachoua does not have a medical license for the United States, according to Yahoo.

After taping the show, Sheen took a plane from New York City to Los Angeles. He told Oz during the flight that he would resume his meds, according to People.

Last November Sheen publically announced his HIV diagnosis on the "Today" show. He shared that the HIV virus could not be picked up in his blood tests.

Sheen's announcement resulted in many reactions. His ex-fiancé sued him for various reasons including not informing her of his HIV status, while actor Burt Reynolds claimed in a video Sheen deserved to get HIV because of his past party lifestyle.
