Samsung is reportedly being sued by some customers over the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.

It seems the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco is far from over. With multiple reported incidents of the smartphone catching fire, at least two class-action lawsuits have now been filed against the South Korean tech giant.

Last Friday, three people in the US has filed complaints against Samsung in class-action status at the US District Court for the District of New Jersey. Top Tech News reported that 38 other plaintiffs in South Korea are also planning to file a lawsuit against the company. Similar reports are also emerging from other parts of the world.

Apart from billions of losses the company has sustained due to Galaxy Note 7 issue, employees and executives of Samsung's mobile phone unit now fear for jobs as well. Samsung recently announced that it would expand the recall program for the Galaxy Note 7.

Despite receiving raving reviews, the fortunes of the Galaxy Note 7 quickly dwindled with reports of the device overheating and catching fire.  Due to the risk of fire, airlines all over the world have banned passengers from carrying the Galaxy Note 7 aboard planes.  Samsung initially requested that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 shuts down the device. Finally, on October 1, the electronics giant announced its plans to halt production of the Galaxy Note 7 and let customers exchange the phone for other Samsung smartphones or get a refund.

Many customers have complained about the poor handling of the situation, which further battered the tech giant's reputation. Tech Times reported the recent investigations show that battery tests for the device were conducted in-house, which is pretty unusual as most companies employ a third-party for testing. Ironically, the tests by Samsung did not reveal any issues pertaining to the batteries of both the original and replacement smartphones.
