When Apple announced the release of the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the world was abuzz with excitement over the new jet black color of the device. It seems that Samsung is jumping on the shiny phone color bandwagon with its own variation for the Galaxy S7.
Korean news site, The Investor, first reported that the S7 would be getting a brand new color, with a photo leaked of the S7 Edge in a shiny shade. Images of the shiny black version resemble the familiar onyx black color, though the biggest difference is the shiny back plate of the phone.
Despite the new color being so attractive, some worry that fingerprint marks would soil their phones. This is evident on the jet black iPhone model as customers have expressed concern that the color is a fingerprint magnet. Aside from prints, it is also prone smudges, which may be a turnoff for certain customers.
Another point of concern regarding the glossy black color is that it could also be prone to scratches. People who have experienced getting scratches on their iPhone 7 are worried that the shiny black S7 will be just like its rival. Samsung has already begun to deploy smartphone units with a shiny color with the coral blue, which was released earlier this month.
After its release, the coral blue has been reported to average 15,000 units sold per day. There has been no confirmation yet regarding when Samsung will be releasing the shiny black S7 smartphone. However, the smartphone could be available as early as December.
