The NES Classic Edition is certainly one of the hottest gaming item this season, and it has become very hard for fans to grab a console lately. Toys R Us stores in the United States launched its Great Big Christmas Sale and the catalog featured the NES Classic Edition. However, the console sold out quickly. The good news is that an unexpected retailer now has stocks of the device, but it may not last long.
Urban Outfitters announced that it would have stocks of the NES Classic Edition on Dec. 6 via its website. The NES Classic Edition will only be available online with a price tag of $60 USD. However, it is still unclear what time the console will go on sale. The service Visualping comes in handy as it notifies users each time a website is updated with new products.
The NES Classic Edition is a 1985 Nintendo Entertainment System remake which comes preinstalled with 30 retro games including The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Mario titles and Final Fantasy, among others. The games also received modern upgrades with brighter and sharper pixelated images.
According to Nintendo, the NES Classic Edition will have a steady flow of additional stocks through the holiday season and new year.
"Many of us have fond and wonderful memories of the original NES," said Doug Bowser, senior VP of sales and marketing at Nintendo. "With these launch activities for the NES Classic Edition, we want to replicate the nostalgic feelings of sitting down and playing the NES with your family for the first time."
