Samsung's new fitness tracker looks like a sporty version of its Samsung Gear S2 in leaked photos that seem to show the wearable with a round display, turning dial bezel, and rubberized band. The fitness watch could include features such as heart rate sensor, body fat measurement, water intake monitoring, and being attachable to a piece of clothing.

The tweet that includes the leaked photos refers to the new device as Gear Fit 2, according to PhoneDog. This implies the wrist wearable could be the second version of the tech giant's activity tracker.

One leaked photo shows a person wearing a round Samsung device on the chest near the heart, on the outside of a shirt. PhoneDog suggests this could be a SM-R150 accessory used to track heart rate better, while another theory is that the watch's body can be detached and then placed on clothing during gym workouts or daily jogs.

The new Samsung wearable might also feature the company's new Bio Processor. In addition, the Body Equalizer seems to display information including weight and fat data, and waist measurements.

It is unclear if the new wearable will have all the standard smart watch features like the Samsung Gear S2. If it does not it would have a lower price tag and could become a rival of cheaper fitness trackers including Fitbit devices, according to Phandroid.

More details about the activity tracker codenamed "Triathlon" could be released at Samsung's next Mobile World Congress. It will take place in February.

Samsung launched its Gear Fit wearable in 2014. It featured a futuristic design, AMOLED display, and more features than an average fitness tracker.

However, there were some key drawbacks of Gear Fit that might be fixed with SM-R150. They include a long display, inability to load apps, and only working with some Samsung handsets.

Another issue of Gear Fit was the $150 price tag. This caused some consumers to choose a cheaper fitness tracker or the Gear 2 Neo smartwatch, which has the same price as Gear Fit but more features.

Samsung's first wearable was the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which was originally an Android OS device. It was released in September 2013.
