Nokia 6 Sells out in 1 Minute During First Flash Sale

It appears Nokia is set to make a big comeback as the company's Nokia 6 smartphone sold out within a minute during its first flash sale recently. The flash sale took place on Wednesday morning.

The smartphone was priced at around $247 and was sold exclusively via JD.com. Before the flash sale, over one million consumers registered for the retail event. While the total number of units sold was not immediately disclosed, another flash sale is expected to be announced soon.

Besides the Nokia 6, consumers expect Nokia to unveil other smartphone models during the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 in Spain next month. According to Phone Arena, the Nokia P1 flagship smartphone is expected to make its debut during the event. The P1 is reportedly based on the Sharp Aquos Xx3 smartphone but will have better specifications. Sources claim that it will come with stereo speakers and Gorilla Glass 5 display protection.

Design

The Nokia 6 features a machined aluminum unibody that gives it a premium appeal. The rear panel houses its main camera and LED flash, the Nokia logo, and a microphone towards the top. The device has an earpiece port as well as a secondary shooter and ambient light sensor. The bottom half has a fingerprint sensor/home button as well as the back and recent apps buttons. The top frame holds a 3.5mm audio jack, while the bottom frame has a speaker grille and microUSB charge port. The left flank features a SIM and memory expansion tray. The right side of the frame holds the power key and volume buttons. The smartphone only comes in a black color option.

Hardware

The Nokia 6 comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset with a 4GB of RAM and a 3000mAh lithium ion battery. It has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The device has a resolution of 1920 x 1808 with a 403ppi pixel density. GMS Arena reported that the unit's internal memory is only 64GB, but its MicroSD expansion slot can support cards up to 256GB. The smartphone's main imaging camera boasts of 16 megapixels with phase detection, while its selfie camera is 8 megapixels. Nokia's latest smartphone runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box and features Dolby Atmos audio enhancement technology.
