"Tekken" fans have been waiting to hear about the official release date of the console version of "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution," and it appears that Bandai Namco is planning to announce this information soon.
The fighting game has only seen an arcade version since its March 2015 release as "Tekken 7." It was upgraded to the current version in July.
"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" designer Michael Murray recently answered a fan on Twitter. According to Shoryuken, Bandai Namco announced that fans would know the official release date of the game in January. Twitter user @lemisweet sent Murray a message saying "release date" and he replied that it is a week away.
According to WWG, the brawler's official Twitter account also posted a message, which urges "all Tekken fans and beyond" to anticipate the game's announcement next week.
Harada has previously confirmed that the game will have a large roster of characters during its console release. A few months ago, the producer had an interview with Game Reactor where he revealed that he was considering paid DLC options. He also said, "personally, I've always thought fighting games were best made as a package." Harada noted that he had received feedback that most gamers do not mind paying for more content, which is one of the factors that could influence his decision on paid DLC content.
Bandai Namco's "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" is expected to be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It is the first "Tekken" game to feature a crossover character from the "Street Fighter" series, with Akuma making his appearance as a playable character.
