AMD is known for their famous and powerful processing units worldwide. With the release of the AMD Ryzen processor, it will be considered one of the most awaited pieces in the tech industry. Considering it as possibly the most powerful chipsets out there once released. However, one variant will not be included which is the 6-core processor.
According to Forbes, there was only some information about AMD's release of their new chipsets. Apparently, it will only be either the 4-core or 8-core products. However, two were reported in terms of CPU's which is the three-tier product range - SR3, SR5 and SR7. This means there's no mid-range 6-core which is shocking given that Intel's current 6-core CPU's, the Core i7-6800K and Core i7-6850K, is very popular using its X99 chipset platform.
AMD Rumors Reveal No 6-Core CPU Variant Releasing
Surprisingly, a contradicting report stated that AMD will not launch a 6-core Ryzen processor after all. AMD will just instead stick on releasing 4-core and 8-core Ryzen CPUs. More so, the recent news will apparently make several tech fans very disappointed since they have been expecting the 6-core Ryzen CPU variant which gives them more options to choose from considering that AMD Ryzen apparently aims to be one of the best high-end chipsets. It benefits the company if it has more variations available for the public.
Expectedly, AMD Ryzen processors will rival the Intel Kaby Lake chipsets and AMD apparently is very confident about its chipset's performance though it is uncertain why the company had come to a decision of scrapping the 6-core Ryzen variant. More importantly, AMD has not come out to verify any possibilities and leaks so it gives hope that it might not be possibly true. The tech company will definitely give more updates about the AMD Ryzen CPU until its launch.
