After three months since the launch of Zenfone 3 Max, Asus unveiled a revved-up version of the phone. The Zenfone 3S Max made its debut on the Indian market, and it caters a whopping 5000 mAh battery said to last for up to 34 days on standby mode.
The Zenfone 3 Max has two variants - a 5.2 inch priced at Rs. 12,999 ($193) and a 5.5 inch priced at Rs. 17,599 ($266). The device made a good start in the market since its release last November 2016.
As for the Zenfone 3S Max, it experienced a major redesign if compared to its predecessor, only available in Gold colour, and is expected to be priced Rs. 10,000 ($148). It now has a physical button, no-rear facing loudspeaker, and the camera was moved to the top-left of the device.
The Zenfone 3S Max has a 5.2 inch IPS LCD, 2.5D curved glass, powered with MediaTek MT6750V octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and Mali T860 MP2 GPU. The internal storage capacity is 32GB coupled with 3GB of RAM. Storage can be further expanded to 256GB via microSD.
As for the camera, it sports a 13MP rear with dual tone LED flash with phase detection AF while the front camera has an 8MP capacity that can capture 720p30 videos. A dual standby VoLTE is featured as well. The physical home button doubles as a fingerprint sensor.
The Zen UI 3.0 runs your interface in out-of-the-box Android Nougat version. Basic connectivity includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. A 3.5mm Audio and MicroUSB 2.0 ports are also part of the basic specifications.
The Zenfone Max 3S will be officially launched in February 7, 2017. Currently, the scheduled release will only be available in India. But it can be expected to have an expanded release in other countries as well after a few months.
