The Deep End Games has just announced a new game called "Perception" that will be coming to Xbox One consoles soon.
The upcoming first-person horror game does not come as a complete surprise for many because developers from The Deep End Games have been spreading information about the game more than a year now. The game will reportedly be released on Playstation 4 and PC.
The game is about Cassie Thornton, which is a blind woman. Cassie must make her way through a mansion in Massachusetts. A supernatural force called "the presence" is said to be subjugating the mansion which makes it a haunted mansion. A walking stick and a smartphone are the only physical tools that are available for players to take advantage, according to Xbox Wire.
Furthermore, since Cassie Thornton is supposedly blind, hearing is very essential. Sound is clearly a major component in the game. This means that if the player generates more sound, it creates a higher chance of getting the attention of the evil force lurking inside the mansion. In addition, the sound is said to generate visualization as well to illuminate the world the player is residing.
The game "Perception" plays out through different chapters having altered periods. Each period explains some of the terrible and horrific things that happened inside the mansion. When players finish and solve a mystery, they return in time, and the mansion slowly turns back to its original form.
Project lead Bill Gardner told Gamespot a few years back that magic, weapons and other stuff will not be the key weapon in this game. The player's senses are the main thing that needs to get attention, hence the game's title. Gardner worked at Irrational for more than 10 years and most recently as a design director in BioShock Infinite.
According to GameSpot, Deep End Games has not yet revealed any official release dates for the game.
