The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is likely to borrow an exciting and successful Surface Studio feature called the Surface Dial. The Surface Pro 5 will reportedly be released soon.

Microsoft is set to hold a huge sale for its Surface products again. Due to this, there are speculations that the company is clearing out stocks to make way for the new Surface Pro 5. The entry-level Surface Book is now priced at $1,299 USD from its previous price of $1,499 USD. On the other hand, the Surface Pro 4 with Intel Core m3 4 GB and 128 GB storage is sold for only $699 USD while the i5 8 GB with 256 storage now costs only $1,049 from $1,199 USD. The sale will last up until Feb. 25.

One of the big changes on the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is an upgraded Touch Screen panel which will work more accurately and fluidly with the Surface Pen and the user's hands. A resolution upgrade to 4K is also expected. The Pro 5 will likely be released in Spring 2017 along with the Windows 10 Creators Update. Meanwhile, the Surface Book updates are expected to come out in the Fall. The Surface Pen could be wirelessly rechargeable while a fingerprint scanner and trackpad are also part of the rumored specs.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is said to be powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 or the seventh-gen Intel Kaby Lake chipset, and it is likely to come with a pre-installed Windows 10 Redmond 3 version. The Kaby Lake processor is said to consist of a 14-nm manufacturing process that provides 40 percent improved performance and cooling technology than the earlier model. The Windows 10 Professional Redstone 2 OS is expected to come with innovative features such as a revamped action center. It is also expected to come with the Microsoft Surface all-in-one desktop.

The Surface Pro 5 could feature a 4k wide screen with 3,840 pixels and could offer only the 128 GB model. It is rumored to come in 21-inch, 24-inch, and 27-inch display variants with a PixelSense panel and 16 GB of RAM with Surface AIO graphics unit. It could feature the USB Type-C version 3.1 with Thunderbolt. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could sport a 16 MP rear camera and 8 MP front snapper. It may support 512 GB to 1 TB of storage SSD. WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity will most likely be enhanced as well. It could come with a price tag of $899 USD for the base model.
