Capturing the feeling of an adventure while balancing story elements is the main goal of Nintendo's upcoming game, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo's acclaimed game designer, has given his take on the importance of story in games and, more specifically, in the forthcoming "Zelda: Breath of the Wild."
Miyamoto sat down and had an interview with Time wherein he explained the importance of plot in video. He said that the game's producer Eiji Aonuma came up with an interesting title wherein players are not specifically inhibited to a plot, but would instead feel that they are embarking on an adventure. More so, he added that Aonuma managed to find a balance between open-world exploration and keeping an active plot.
With this, Miyamoto asserts that having a story in any kind of game is equally important. He further stated that it is important for the plot to leave a lasting impression on players as soon as they finish the game. Despite that, he was also certain that it is challenging to cut down playtime when it comes to establish and narrating a story.
Furthermore, Miyamoto acknowledges the fact that players should be able to experience and somewhat "live in" the plot. It is said that this is what the "Zelda" series has been working on over the years, as per My Nintendo News. Specifically for the latest installment, fans will purportedly have to dig the narrative out. It is for them to make out the major hidden tale. He mentioned as well how "Breath of the Wild" still keeps the series' original formula while at the same time, make it much more interactive.
Note that the upcoming "The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild" is said to boast a variety of routes and approaches which are said to offer its players the freedom to exactly customize their playstyle. Miyamoto added that the story of the game depends on what ever conclusion each player reaches. If this would be the case, then there is absolutely a large range of endings in the upcoming title, iTech Post reported.
