Director Hajime Tabata provides more information on the upcoming "Final Fantasy 15" multiplayer feature. What can we expect?

More details have been revealed about "Final Fantasy 15's" multiplayer feature, providing fans more insight into how the much-awaited highlight could work. The game's director Hajime Tabata was careful not to divulge any important information that could spoil the feature, but he did give fans bits of juicy details.

During an interview with Polygon, Tabata gave a sneak peek of the future of the multiplayer feature, saying that it will tie into the main story at some point. He also revealed that it would be less about the four "Final Fantasy 15" protagonist after all.

"We are less focused on playing as the four main characters but rather as an avatar that the user creates themselves," he said. "So rather than having you and your friends play as these four guys and experience their journey again together, it's more about the journey that you and your friends have together with each other in this world."

According to Polygon, the multiplayer feature that Tabata described is in line with a popular fan theory, which states that it might take place 10 years after the main story of "Final Fantasy 15." Apparently, the main purpose of this is to maximize the game's assets that are undoubtedly expensive to make.

In other news, "Final Fantasy 15" will soon get the "Gladiolus" DLC, which will focus on the titular character's individual story. Other confirmed characters that will make an appearance include Cor and the series veteran Gilgamesh, iTechPost reported.

Players can also expect a new type of combat system and new gameplay elements to be included in the "Final Fantasy 15" DLC, but they have not been detailed yet. The new content is dropping on March 28 for $4.99. There is also a $25 Season Pass that will get players the DLC as soon as it comes, the future DLCs of the other characters, and the multiplayer feature.
