After teasing the features of LG G5 since a couple of months, the smartphone was officially announced by LG on Feb. 26. Here are the specifications, pricing and release date of LG G6:
Measuring 148.9 x 71.9 x 7.9 mm and weighing 163 grams, the LG G6 I the first IP68 certified water and dust resistant smartphone from the company. It is fitted with a FullVision display of 5.7 inches that produces a display resolution of 2,880 x 1,440 pixels along with an unusual aspect ratio of 18:9.
The screen supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 that allows its deliver better contrast and lifelike viewing experience, Phone Arena reported. It is fueled by Snapdragon 821 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. The smartphone comes in two storage options of 32 GB and 64 GB. Its external storage supports a microSD card of up to 256 GB.
It has a dual camera setup on its back panel. It includes a 135-degree wide-angle 13-megapixel camera and another 13-megapixel snapper for Optical Image Stabilization and autofocus. The rear camera is coupled with a dual-LED flash. Its front-facing camera is of 5-megapixel.
The smartphone comes preloaded with Android 7.0 Nougat modified with LG UX 6.0 UI and is the first non-Google phone to feature Google Assistant preinstalled. The rear side of the phone features a fingerprint scanner.
The U.S. edition of the phone will carry support for wireless charging. Other specs include Quad DAC for amazing audio experience and USB Type-C port. It lacks NFC connectivity. The LG G6 includes a non-removable battery of 3,300 mAh battery with fast charging capabilities.
The LG G6 pre-orders will officially kickstart from March 2 and it will end on March 9 in South Korea and other regions. It will start shipping from March 10 in the home country. The official pricing of the phone is not known yet, but it is expected to cost around $649 to $749. It is expected to be available through U.S. carriers like T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon by spring, 9 to 5 Google reported.
