Blizzard has finally revealed the newest addition to "Overwatch's" roster: Orisa. She is the 24th hero in the game who fights with a projectile machine gun. She is currently on the PTR and marks the third character being added to the game post-launch, following the release of Ana last summer as well as Sombra in the fall.
Orisa is a robot tank character whose gameplay is said to be engineered around protection. Her main weapon is called the Fusion Driver -- an automatic projectile cannon that delivers constant damage. However, the downside of this weapon is that it slows her movement speed. The alternate fire is called Halt, which launches a charge that she can detonate to slow opponents as well as pull them towards the explosion.
According to GameSpot, her abilities include Fortify. It can boost her personal defense as it does not only temporarily reduce the damage she takes, but it also makes her immune to "action-impairing effects." She can throw out a Protective Barrier as well. It is a stationary barrier that can be deployed to hinder enemy attacks and protect her and her allies from those attacks.
More so, Express details that her ultimate is Supercharger. With this, a device is being launched which buffs damage done by any teammates in its line of sight. More so, enemies can be destroyed by this device alone.
Players who wish to try out "Overwatch's" new character Orisa can do so via the PC version's public test ream. Note that a date of her release in the live game has not been officially announced as of yet.
According to The Verge, Orisa comes after a short teaser campaign which has introduced fans to Efi Oladele, an 11-year-old scientist. In the "Overwatch" world, Efi is said to be inspired to build Orisa out of an OR15 defense robot's remains after witnessing an attack by Doomfist. Doomfist is one of the most notorious villains in the game.
