Blizzard Entertainment is in hot water now because players are getting impatient over the new "Diablo 4" game. Blizzcon 2016 came and went without the highly-anticipated Diablo 4 and instead, Blizzard announced the "Diablo 3" Necromancer DLC.
This may have calmed down the fans but now that there is still no trace of "Diablo 4," the fans are starting to doubt if the new game is still worth waiting for. Diablo 4 should already be in its development stage otherwise loyal fans will find interest in other games.
"We are very happy with the Diablo 3 universe, and we continue to produce a lot of free content for it. And now soon, we'll have the Necromancer, a whole new character class being introduced, some time probably middle of 2017 - we don't have a specific date on that yet," Blizzard's EVP of Corporate Operations Gio Hunt said.
"So we continue to have a very vibrant community around "Diablo 3," and of course there's always talk about Diablo 4. We didn't announce anything today; we're not ready to announce anything about that. But we love the Diablo franchise as much as any of the other universes, and I'm sure at some point we'll see something like that."
According to reports, "Diablo 4" is already on the planning stage but Blizzard Entertainment still has to prepare for its development. That being said, the new game may be launched in around three or four years from now.
The question is if fans will continue to settle for "Diablo 3" Necromancer DLC until then. The Necromancer DLC needs both the "Reapers of Souls" and "Diablo 3." To keep the fans, the Diablo 3 Necromancer DLC will come with more golems, curses and pets. "Diablo 3" Ultimate Evil Edition is required for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
