The latest details for "Street Fighter 5" will feaure in-game announcement for Pro Tour events and a possible crossover game with "Mortal Kombat".
Capcom will now implement Pro Tour announcement for "Street Fighter 5" in their website this year. This will give gaming fans a chance to be part of Capcom's Pro Tournaments for "Street Fighter 5", even a get a chance to compete in the said event very soon, EventHubs reported.
Currently, Capcom is promoting new game features and characters within "Street Fighter 5" as they recently launched Kolin into the roster next to Akuma in this year's DLC fighters.
Other possible characters joining "Street Fighter 5" are Sunrise Nishisenba, C. Viper, Sagat, Sodom, Q, Rose, Abel, Oro, Eisbahn, Helen, Goutetsu, Matthew McCoy, Luke and an unnamed experimental doll being controlled by M. Bison.
Meanwhile, it seems that Capcom's popular game franchise, "Street Fighter" will be heading to another crossover venture as NetherRealm producer Ed Boon stated that should Capcom approach him about a "Mortal Kombat" and "Street Fighter" crossover, he would "entertain"’ the idea.
Both "Street Fighter" and "Mortal Kombat" are not new with the idea of crossover with other titles as Capcom's leading arcade-fighting series has been featured in several crossover titles like "Street Fighter X Tekken", "Capcom vs. SNK" and "Marvel vs. Capcom" series, while "Mortal Kombat" had the "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe" crossover.
However, Boon told IGN that while gaming fans would love to see "Street Fighter" and "Mortal Kombat" to crossover to happen soon. he concedes that there is no way that would satisfy everybody given the contrasting tones of both franchises.
Boon added that even if this crossover title was rated M and the studio is permitted to“tear Ryu’s head off” via Fatality, a successful crossover game would be difficult to make due to how different "Street Fighter plays over "Mortal Kombat", saying that there is different pacing and fundamentals with both games.
"Street Fighter 5" is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.
