If reports are anything to go by, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will get their Android 6.0 Marshmallow update soon.

According to a leaked schedule, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in February, 9to5Google reported.

In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will receive the latest Marshmallow update in March or April. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 will get the update in February or March.

Users of Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will get the new update in March or April. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has been in testing on Samsung handsets in a few countries.

Also, it is not known whether Samsung Galaxy S4 will get the Android 6.0 M update or not.

A beta test was carried out by Samsung in which it enabled people with unlocked variants of the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 to test a beta build of Android 6.0.1 M.

This program was not open to any other handset. However, according to reports, South Korean manufacturer has sent out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow beta by mistake to Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5. A Galaxy S5 user in France has got the Android 6.0.1 M update by mistake on the device.

The security patch date is listed as 1 January 2016. This shows that this is not a build that is intended for public release. So far, no other handset has got an update with the January security patch.

Meanwhile, according to a SamMobile report, Samsung is currently working on the Galaxy A9 Pro. The device carries the model number SM-A9100.

The firmware for the upcoming device is under development. At present, there is no information on the features and specifications of the Galaxy A9 Pro.

However, some reports suggest that the new device may run on Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box and feature a higher resolution display and more inbuilt storage.

Furthermore, Samsung is expected to release three new smartphones this year -  the Galaxy J1 (2016),  Galaxy J5 (2016) and the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016).
