The latest details for "The Last of Us 2" will feature an amazing storyline and Ellie Responsible for Joel's death in the sequel.
A new theory circling around the "The Last of Us 2" Reddit forums regarding what happened to Joel before the events of the sequel and Ellie could be responsible for his demise. Many gaming fans speculated that Joel could be dead in "The Last of Us 2" trailer and that Ellie is merely seeing or hearing his "ghost" during the video.
There are several clues as to why this is happening in 'The Last of Us 2," particularly that Joel did not seem to have aged and he did not help Ellie in what seemed to be a battle and that he spoke in singular. “You sure you wanna do this?” he asked Ellie.
One Reddit user speculated that the Fireflies were able to track down and execute Joel for what he did in “The Last Of Us.” As such, Ellie is out for revenge, with the ghost of Joel (in her mind) following her in"The Last of Us 2's" plot.
Another theory suggest that Joel and Ellie will be at odds with one another and that the wedge that tear them up will be driven by Marlene’s death. Joel killed Marlene to save Ellie in the first game. Both Marlene and Ellie grew close and the love that Ellie had for Marlene and the latter’s death in the hands of Joel might justify her anger.
Meanwhile, Naugthy Dog revealed more details regarding the story development of "The Last of Us 2" as president Evan Wells told Game Informer (via PlayStationLifeStyle) that they will have plans for a two-team studio bakc when the developed the first game.
