The "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" rumors has been going on since last year, even as Electronic Arts has continued to provide DLC packs for the current game. The speculations about an upcoming sequel is now confirmed as EA top boss Blake Jorgensen finally confirmed the second "Battlefront" title arriving this year.
Latest rumors suggest that "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" will be released by the end of 2017, sometime between November and December. However, it is expected that the first reveal of the sequel will happen very soon. In fact, the rumors are rife that the first official trailer of the game will be out this April at the Star Wars Celebration. The game trailer is said to come out alongside the first teaser for the upcoming movie "Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi."
Cinelinx's EIC, Jordan Maison, reported from the Star Wars Convention Orlando gaming presentation, as he revealed that EA has teased a lot of details regarding "Star Wars: Battlefront 2." Furthermore, Maison said that the game studio promises a sequel that will be different and even better than the original game.
The fans should not get their hopes too high, however, as the rumored "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" reveal next month may only be limited to single player campaign teaser. As per MobiPicker, Furious Fanboys' Jeremy Conrad reported his own reliable sources' scoop that the sequel's presentation for the multiplayer mode will be shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017 in June. This sounds likely as EA has always presented the demo of their upcoming games' multiplayer rounds at the E3.
With Jorgensen promising that "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" will be different and bigger than the first, there are rumors that the sequel will feature much more than multiplayer contents. It is possible that EA will decide to make "Battlefront" take on a similar route as "Titanfall," eventually introducing single player contents and campaign for the sequel.
"Star Wars" fans and gamers alike are looking forward to the new worlds to be featured in "Battlefront 2," given that the "Star Wars" universe continues to expand with 2015's "The Force Awakens" plus the other upcoming movies, "The Last Jedi," and the untitled Episode 9 film. It is rumored that "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" may even show contents fresh from the spin-off movie "Rogue One."
