Before the official launch of the Bethesda's "Prey" in just a few weeks, fans will get to play the mysterious first-person shooter over a week before its release. Thanks to a playable demo, this trial made possible for all the interested gamers.

The Prey Demo: Opening Hour is coming to Microsoft's game console such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 27, that is eight days ahead of the full game's May 5 launch. Unfortunately, Bethesda's press release did not include any mention of this trial version coming to personal computers.

This trial will give players a glimpse of life in the shoes of lead scientist aboard the Talos I space station. Morgan Yu, the lead star will be controlled by the player, according to GameSpot. Bethesda has earlier revealed that each and every player can choose whether they want to play Morgan in a character of a male or female. With that outcome, it will pan out slightly differently depending on which option the player pick.

The environment of the game can also be changed depending on the player's characteristic and its relationship with Morgan's brother, Alex, who happens to be the supervisor of Talos I.

"Prey's" videos are growing and coming thick and fast as we head towards the official May 5 release date. In fact, one recent video highlighted some of the supernatural powers that can be seen in the game, while a prior trailer showed off some terrifying alien enemies.

"Prey" is a reimagining of the original game released in the year 2006. It is also said to be the replacement for the canceled sequel to that game that was in progress at Human Head Studios.

The new game title is seen by some as a spiritual successor to System Shock, a 1994 game. While some also think it's been inspired by BioShock. According to Gaming Illuminaughty, there’s been numerous trailers and extended gameplay videos released for the game.
