“The Fate of the Furious” had the highest-grossing opening day of all time in both Egypt and Indonesia. The movie is also the top opening day for the “The Fast and the Furious” franchise in many countries such as Korea, Belgium, Egypt and Indonesia.
Variety reported that the universal’s tentpole “The Fate of the Furious” has raced a total of $19.7 million in its first day in the International Box Office. The movie grossed $7.9 million in 8 international regions and $11.8 million in previews in 12 other international regions. Universal said that “The Fate of the Furious” has already produced the biggest opening of 2017 in every market where it has been released so far.
China kicked off with record-breaking midnight shows on Thursday, according to Deadline. The total recorded grossing is $8.7M (60M RMB). Early estimates show China’s Friday box office at $55.2M (that is not included in the overall $82.2M gross).
"The Fate of the Furious," starring Mark Sinclair, better known by his stage name Vin Diesel is being released in 63 territories, along with the U.S., Canada and more countries. Universal has not revealed the price tag yet for the newest installment, but specialists estimated that the budget is at $250 million.
People from forums, as well as analysts, have predicted that the movie sequel for the movie "The Fast and the Furious" should top $380 million. It could also even blow past the $400 million mark globally. With that, the movie would outpace "Furious 7" $397.7 million bow. The preceding film remains the highest-grossing U.S.-made film in China's history as of now, with $391.3 million.
The movie "The Fate of the Furious" is expected to top $100 million in its U.S. grand launch opening. That will not meet the $147 million opening for "Furious 7" back in 2015, which celebrated the life of the late Paul William Walker IV, who died in 2013.
