DJI's smallest drone called the Spark is set to be unveiled at an upcoming event in New York City on May 24. Spark is believed to be even smaller than the DJI Mavic Pro which folds down to the size of a water bottle.
The Spark will possibly be similar to the $500 Yunecc Breeze, which is similar in size and features to DJI's upcoming drone. The price of DJI's Spark is yet to be disclosed. The cheapest drone that the company has on the market right now is the Mavic Pro which cost $999.
Recently leaked images of a new DJI drone has surfaced on DJI forums. The drone appears to have a similar foldable design as the Mavic Pro, but, smaller. The DJI Spark, according to the leaked images, is about 15cm long. Also, a leaked video of the drone shows that it can be hand-held and comes with a vertical tilting camera. There are speculations about whether it's a low-cost "selfie" drone or meant only for racing.
The Spark is likely to be shipped without a controller and users would need to use a smartphone to control it. As such, the range is more likely limited than DJI's other drones. The Older Phantom 3 drone costs about $499 and is the company's least expensive drone. At a price of $999, the DJI Mavic Pro is the DJI's latest drone.
