"Grand Theft Auto 6" has been long rumored for release since time immemorial, perhaps, due to the epic success of "GTA 5". According to recent reports, the sixth title to the franchise will be launching on Project Scorpio, and not on PS5.
"GTA 5" will soon turn 4 this year, and many believe that "GTA 6" is already poised to release in the near future. Rockstar Games has notably taken a five-year interval between game releases over the years and if this pattern holds, fans would likely see the game in 2018.
But a possibility that "GTA 6" will be launched in 2020 is also making the rounds online due to the upcoming initial release of "Red Dead Redemption 2" this fall. If this speculation is anything to go by, 2020 is calculated as the time that Sony's next gen console will be around in the market.
Thus, it is supposed that the next entry to the GTA series will be launched on PS5. But another theory suggests an interesting perspective, as per Daily Sun Knoxville.
Based on the launching of "GTA 5" way back when, Rockstar Games apparently launched the game months before Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PS4 were made available to gamers. In doing so, the game developer was able to also profit on the game's release to older gen consoles, Xbox 360 and PS3.
If the same case will be applied to "GTA 6" in 2020, it makes sense that the game will arrive to current-gen system first such as the Project Scorpio, Xbox One and PS4 before it will hit the next gen console, PS5.
Meanwhile, there are also widespread theories and speculations regarding the potential locations and characters for "Grand Theft Auto 6". According to game analysts, the next title will be set in one of these three locations- the entire US map, London or Vice City.
The upcoming game will likely see a couple of new protagonists, one of which is a female. Rumor has also swirled online that the real life Holywood celebrity couple, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes will voice the two main characters.
But while Rockstar Games has not yet announced official details on "GTA 6", it is best for fans to take these theories, speculations and rumors with a pinch of salt. On the other hand, "GTA 5" is set to receive the Gunrunning DLC as the game's final expansion around summer this year.
