New updates for "Final Fantasy 7' remake will feature more "Final Fantasy" title remakes and a spin-off compilation for "FFVII" soon.
It seems that Square Enix has plans to revived older "Final Fantasy" titles to the current and future video game platforms soon as "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" director Takashi Katano told International Business Times that the possibility of making remake versions of "Final Fantasy" games are now possible given the current and advance technology today.
With "Final Fantasy 7" remake currently being in development and possibly launching to the PlayStation 4 next year, will Square Enix give the same treatment to other sequels like "Final Fantasy VIII" or "Final Fantasy XIV" soon?
For now, Square Enix has released several HD remastered games in the "Final Fantasy" series such as "Final Fantasy X/X-2" and the upcoming "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age". No to mention, HD remasters of previous "Kingdom Hearts" titles.
In other news, game director Tetsuya Nomura made some comments regarding a HD compilation for "Final Fantasy VII" spin-off games such as "Before Crisis", "Crisis Core", and "Dirge of Cerberus."
The game director told Finaland that making a compilation for the "Final Fantasy VII" spin-offs will be a difficult task considering that there might not be any continuity between them and "Final Fantasy 7" remake at the moment.
Nomura wanted "Final Fantasy 7" remake to be different from the original game, but at the same time will not make any sudden big changes in order to retain the feeling of nostalgia to older gaming fans.
Past reports revealed that voice-actor Steve Burton announced he will return as Cloud Strife in "Final Fantasy 7" remake and Square Enix might feature new gameplay details at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo next month, including a rumored Nintendo Switch version.
There is no release date announcement for "Final Fantasy 7" remake.
