It looks like Niantic Labs is planning something big for "Pokemon GO" as it hints that this Summer will be legendary for all Pokemon fans. Meanwhile, rumors surrounding the Shiny Aerodactyl appears to be a hoax.

The game developer teased an exciting that Legendary Pokemon will arrive in "Pokemon GO". This latest development surfaced during the latest Webby Awards where the popular augment reality game received five gongs and hailed as the best mobile game.

While receiving the awards, Marketing lead Archit Bhargava told the audience, "This summer is going to be legendary." This does not sound much to give as to what content that players can expect by then, but it seems to tease about the  highly requested Legendary Pokemon update.

The addition of Legendary Pokemon to the game is tied with Niantic's plans to introduce raids and overhaul the game's gym battles soon. But while waiting, players can have fun with the Adventure Week Rock-type event.

This event runs until 9pm on May 25 in the UK, Express Online reported. With the Rock-type event, gamers can grab additional items from Pokestops and the Rock-type Pokemon will appear more often than usual.

The Poke Balls can be bought at 50% less from the in-game shop. Also, "Pokemon GO" players will be able to use the brand new Explorer's Hat from the wardrobe.

In more news, the rumors on Shiny Aerodactyl disappoints as it appears that it is a hoax. Reports said that as the Adventure Week Rock-type event is currently ongoing, Aerodactyl will be the third Pokemon to get a Shiny variant.

To make it even more persuasive, a photo of the alleged Shiny Aerodactyl also made the rounds online. But the screenshot is fake and apparently, there is no sign that it is being added to "Pokemon GO".
