Just a few weeks after the release of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, the specs, price, and even release date of the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 has been reported online. Latest leaks and rumors somehow suggest that the said device has already entered the pre-production stage.
This year marks the rise of Samsung from their Samsung Note 7 debacle last year. With positive reviews and warm welcome of their Galaxy S8 series devices, the Galaxy S9 is poised to go beyond the current model.
Latest reports and rumors suggest that the Korean electronics brand will start an early production of the S9 series to take advantage of their current market momentum. Korean media channel, The Bell, reported that Galaxy S9 specs would showcase a much larger display, while dispelling the notion of a foldable smartphone, according to BGR.
One of the highlights of the reports concerning the successor of Samsung Galaxy S8 would be its processor. The Inquirer reported that the highly rumored Snapdragon 845 would be incorporated into the device.
Along with it is a possible 6.2-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED curved display (570ppi / 529ppi). The upcoming Android 8.0 will likely be the operating system of the device out of the box.
Another special change that will be witnessed in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 would be the use of a dual rear-facing camera. To go along with it would be a Bixby AI assistant with a dedicated button.
Concerning its release date, if the rumors are correct that Samsung has already entered the pre-production stage of their upcoming Galaxy S series, it would likely be that next year's MWC would be the launching date. Succeeding months would apparently serve as its release period.
As for the price of the device, it still unknown what would be the price point. However, viewing it in the current Galaxy S8 price point, the S9 would likely be around £689 and £779. Nevertheless, no confirmation yet was received from Samsung concerning their Galaxy S9 series, which is why details and rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
