Virtual Reality (VR) is going to come alive in 2016 with amazing VR headsets lined up for releases this year.
Top VR headsets generating maximum heat so far are HTC's Vive, Facebook's Oculus Rift and Sony's PlayStation VR.
Specs offered by HTC Vive and Oculus Rift are similar. Only difference lies in field view offered by both headsets. Oculus Rift offers a 110 degree field view, while, according to T3 gadget, HTC Vive offers a field view which is a notch higher than Oculus Rift. PlayStation VR, on the other hand, offers a lower 100 degree field view.
Oculus Rift offers a 1080 x 1200 pixel display and a 90 Hz refresh rate, while PlayStation VR has a 960 x 1080 resolution but a higher refresh rate of 120 Hz.
According to T3 gadget, HTC Vive headset shall sport a hardware that can track one around a room. It shall also sport a camera that will both augment one's VR experience and prevent one from walking into a wall. With both these features, HTC Vive holds an edge over the other two headsets.
However, Trusted Reviews, in its early verdict, predicts that Oculus Rift shall be a clear winner among these three headsets. This is because Oculus Rift offers more than 100 popular games along with its headset. Very popular games like "Eve: Valkyrie" and "Lucky's Tale" are included in this list of games.
When it comes to deciding which headset to buy, some practical considerations have to be taken into account. Most important is specs of a system that best supports a VR headset. According to T3, those who have a PlayStation console do not need to look any further than PlayStation VR headset; however, those opting for Rift or Vive shall need powerful devices.
Oculus has already published a list of specs recommended for its headset, while HTC is yet to disclose these specs.
