New updates for "Star Wars Battlefront 2" will feature two DLC heroes and Battle Points can be used to unlock characters and vehicles.
Electronic Arts and DICE showcased a new gameplay trailer for "Star Wars Battlefront 2," which features players taking the roles of the Clone Troopers and Trade Federation battle droids in the planet Naboo, turning its city into a huge war zone.
The new "Star Wars Battlefront 2" trailer proved that the sequel will now let players fight different characters from all "Star Wars" films from "The Phantom Menace" to "Force Awakens." Characters like Dark Maul, Yoda, Rey, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, Bobba Fett and many more will be playable in the sequel.
However, not all of them can be unlocked easily as players can actually buy them using a new currency system using "Battle Coins."
Battle Points in "Sfar Wars Battlefront 2" can be earned for pretty much everything players can do in the game, as long as they actively playing. They can earn points for kills, supporting team mates, working towards objectives and more. Players can also buy the in-game currency.
These Battle Points can then be spent to unlock the sorts of things players would have had to find a pick-up icon for in the first "Star Wars Battlefront." During the E3 2017 presentation, VG 24/7 was able to gain a glimpse of the items that can be bought in "Star Wars Battlefront 2."
These include Boba Fett for 5,000 points, Darth Maul for 5,000 points, the Vulture Droid for 500 points, Troop Transport for 1,000 points, an AAT for 2,000 points and B2 Super Battle Droid for 2,000 points.
Aside from the new currency system, EA and DICE also announced two characters from "Star Wars: the Force Awakens" being part of "Battlefront 2's" pre-order DLC.
"Force Awakens" star John Boyega stated before his interest in adding new content for "Star War Battlefront" citing its lack of story mode, which EA intends to amend in sequel.
The actor swung back around for a second appearance to confirm Finn’s inclusion in "Star Wars Battlefront 2" as part of the game’s first DLC season alongside fellow "Force Awakens" character Captain Phasma portrayed b Gwendoline Christie.
"Star Wars Battlefront 2" game director Dennis Brannvall stated that the heroes will work under a rock-paper-scissors type of functionality, in which certain character types are more effective against others. Brannvall added that players will notice that heroes bring more physical presence than ever before as gamers will actually feel stronger and more powerful, in a sort of phantom physicality," as they traverse through the game as their hero of choice.
EA added confirmed that all heroes, vehicles, and maps that release subsequent to the sequel's launch are entirely free. These include new maps like Theed, Mos Eisley Spaceport, Yavin IV, Starkiller Base and the Kamino Cloning Facility.
Players who pre-ordered "Star Wars Battlefront 2" will receive four upgraded player classes: the Elite Officer, Heavy Metal, Armored Assault, and Master Specialist. They will also gain access to the game three days early, Gamerant reported.
"Star Wars Battlefront 2" will launch on Nov. 17 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
