The rumor mill has started revealing purported specs of Samsung Galaxy Note 6 phablet device.

The Galaxy Note 5 was announced in August 2015 and within few months of its release, the rumor mill has started talking about its successor, the Galaxy Note 6. According to Phone Arena, the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will be coming with a slim 5.7-inch RGB AMOLED display.

The Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4 and other predecessor models feature 5.7-inch displays. Like the Galaxy Note 5, its successor will be coming with support for Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The Galaxy Note 6's display is expected to be brighter than the screen of Note 5.

The rumor mill is silent on the chipset of the Samsung Galaxy Note 6. However, the upcoming phablet will be available in two chipset editions from Qualcomm Snapdragon and Samsung Exynos. Rumors suggest that the chipset will be accompanied by 6 GB of RAM. No other flagship smartphone feature that has released so far come with 6 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Note 6 is also speculated to be available in two storage editions of 64 GB and 128 GB, Mobi Picker reported. The Note 6 will be featuring a microSD card slot. There is no expansion slot available on the Galaxy Note 5.

The Galaxy Note 6 is speculated to be arriving with 12 MP camera. It will be driven with Super Optical Image Stabilization setup. The same camera module is available on the rear panels of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge that are going to be announced on Feb. 21.

An improved edition of the S-Pen stylus is expected to arrive with the Galaxy Note 6. The soon to be released Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets do not appear entirely different last year's Galaxy S6 and S6 smartphones. Hence, the rumor mill has speculated that the Galaxy Note 6 will not be sporting similar design as Galaxy Note 5.

As far as Galaxy Note 6 release date is concerned, early speculations suggest that Samsung will be aiming to release it in August this year. In 2015, Samsung avoided releasing Galaxy Note 5 in September when Apple released its iPhone 6S and 6S plus smartphones. Hence, the phablet was released in August last year.
