Fresh rumors on the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 suggest that it will be arriving with a fast performing 256 GB UFS 2.0 inbuilt storage.
Currently, the highest inbuilt storage available on the smartphones is 128 GB. However, the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to arrive with 256 GB of native storage, Phone Arena reported.
The South Korean tech giant has already begun with the mass production of the 256 GB UFS 2.0 storage. The new memory chips are capable of handling 45,000 input and 40,000 output operations per second when it comes to reading and writing data. In comparison to it, the previous generation UFS storage can support 19,000 input and 14,000 output operations per second.
The Samsung 256 GB UFS 2.0 storage can read speeds up to 850 MB per second. The data transfer is equivalent to the speed offered by SATA SSD drives for desktop PCs. It can deliver writing speeds of up to 260 MB per second. This is not on par with SSD drives for PCs. However, it is significantly better than the writing speeds of currently available microSD cards.
Samsung has explained that the reason behind producing 256 GB UFS 2.0 storage is that it can be used on high-end smartphones that support 4K resolution video playback and recording. The physical size of the new memory chip is smaller than the microSD card. Such a small chip would certainly allow manufacturer to have more space to include additional hardware components on their devices, Android Police reported.
The Samsung 256 GB UFS 2.0 has been announced few days after the unveiling of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones. The new memory chip is expected to arrive on the future model from Samsung. Rumors are rife that the South Korean tech giant may incorporate the 256 GB UFS 2.0 in Galaxy Note 6 phablet.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is rumored to arrive with a 5.8-inch RGB AMOLED screen. It is rumored to be available in Exynos and Snapdragon chipsets. Speculations also hint the Note 6 will be coming a whopping 6 GB of RAM.
It is expected to be available in storage models like 64 GB and 128 GB. With the introduction of new memory chip, the Note 6 is speculated to come with 256 GB UFS 2.0 storage. It may also feature a microSD card slot. The rear camera of the device will be of 12 MP. The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date is expected to happen in August 2016.
