Sony Has Officially Confirmed The End Of Xperia Z Series

Sony has now officially confirmed that it will be no longer produce Xperia Z series smartphones.

After announcing the new Sony Xperia X series smartphones during the Mobile World Congress 2016, Sony Mobile Germany revealed on Facebook that the Japanese company will not be manufacturing Sony Xperia Z6 smartphone. It also revealed that the company has discontinued the Xperia Z lineup, Phone Arena reported.

Now Sony Mobile has officially released an official confirmation on it by stating that it has ended the Xperia Z series by launching the Xperia X smartphones. It further added Xperia X lineup was all about providing customers with advanced technologies through its smartphones. However, the Xperia X lineup is all about providing its users with adaptive experiences through well-designed hardware and software along with better camera and battery performance, Xperia Blog reported.

The rumor mill had been talking about the Xperia Z6 smartphone. Some speculations suggested that Sony would be releasing multiple variants of Xperia Z6. However, Sony official statement has to put to rest all the rumors surrounding Sony Xperia Z6.

Speculations now indicate that Sony will be mainly focusing on releasing feature-rich midrange smartphones. This can be understood with the newly released Xperia X and Xperia XA that do not come with high-end specs. The high-end Xperia X Performance smartphone that is powered by Snapdragon 820 comes with lower resolution display than the Xperia Z5 Premium.

The Sony Xperia Z series was launched in 2013. It included both high-end smartphones and tablets. The very first Sony Xperia Z smartphone was launched in 2013. The company followed a pattern of releasing two flagships in a year by using the Mobile World Congress and IFA platforms to launch its smartphones.

The Sony Xperia X is the flagship smartphone of this year. It arrives with a 5-inch full HD IPS LCD display. It is a scratch-resistant screen that comes with a oleophobic coating.

Its chassis is resistant to damage from water and dust. Lastly, it is packed with a battery for performance.
