New details for "Mortal Kombat X" will feature a new gameplay trailer for the characters of the "Kombat Pack 2" and a rumored launch date on April.
Game creator Ed Boon tweeted on his Twitter page that a new gameplay trailer for "Mortal Kombat X" will launchh sometime this week as the trailer may highlight some the new characters in the upcoming "Kombat Pack 2" DLC.
NetherRealm announced last year that the fighters for the "Kombat Pack 2" DLC will include Liu Kang's former teacher Bo'Rai Cho, the new cyborg ninja Tri-Borg, who happens to be a combination of previous cyborg ninja characters Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke , Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" films and the Xenomorph from Ridley Scott's "Alien" film franchise, Gamerant reported. Aside from the new characters, NetherRealm Studios may also include other "Klassic" skins from the current roster of fighters, old school arenas like "The Pit" and even a "Jurassic mode".
The first "Kombat Pack" DLC for "Mortal Kombat X" featured returning characters Tanya and Tremor as well as introducing two movie guest characters such as "Friday the 13th" slasher Jason Voorhees and the Predator from the "Predator" film franchise. The "Kombat Pack" also featured some skins from characters like Jax, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kano, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade and many more.
Aside from the new gameplay trailer this week, it is also rumored that the "Kombat Pack 2" DLC will be pair up with a new live-action Mortal Kombat series, called "Mortal Kombat: Generations" featuring some of its new characters from the "MKX" such as Takeda, Erron Black, Cassie Cage and Kung Jin.
A previous live-action series called "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" was featured in YouTube depicting the game's origin stories of each character and depiction of its first tournament. WIth story of "Generation" highlighting the characters in "MKX" it will likely serve as prequel to the game itself or retailing of it.
The release date for the "Kombat Pack 2" is rumored to launch on April this year, however, NetherRealm Studios has not yet made a statement whether this launch date is legitimate, Parent Herald reported.
"Mortal Kombat X" is currently available in stores worldwide for the PS4, Xbox One and for the PC.
