"Street Fighter 5" will feature new details for its story mode, as well support from the Steam OS and Steam controller for the PC version.
Capcom revealed new details on "Street Fighter 5's" story mode as the game publisher's representative Kouichi Sugiyama was able to share the new information during a recent interview session. Sugiyama told Famitsu (via EventHubs) that Capcom will put on a "real work" for "Street Fighter 5's" storyline as they wanted firmly place it in the franchises official continuity and want to establish the different relationship of each character, whether new or old into the game.
Although Sugiyama did not elaborate further on the sequel's storyline, he cited the "Street Fighter Alpha" series as an alternate continuity and wanted to make certain clarity in the game's events leading the upcoming "Street Fighter 5" video game. Sugiyama added that the development team are going to discuss about getting rid of charge moves from other characters in order to make "Street Fighter 5" unique to previous titles.
Famitsu stated that their have been new moves added in the characters, while old moves were removed in the process. Sugiyama explained that the reason they are doing it is that they do not want to characters that a very similar and want them to be different. He cited Charlie Nash as an example as his special move has a charge, but Capcom change it into motion.
They wanted to make the characters with similar style's such as Nash and Guile to be different people since both have the same moves. With Nash having a motion animation and teleportation powers added to arsenal could make him a different person than his Alpha series' version. This also applies to other characters such as Ryu and Ken Masters.
Recent reports stated that "Street Fighter" characters like Sagat and Blanka are rumored not be added in "Street Fighter 5" due to game director Yoshinori Ono's decision not putting them in the initial roster as they wanted to avoid repititioned characters. However, Ono stated a five year plan for the sequel and a second wave of DLC characters is being planned, to which gaming fans are hoping to have these two on board soon.
Capcom added that the PC vesion of "Street Fighter 5" will have a Steam OS support along with the Steam controller as they are in collaboration with game publisher Valve on the project, VG 24/7 reported.
