Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus, burst into the competitive smartphone scene less than three years ago in December of 2013. Since the company's official launch, OnePlus have released three impressive phones with even more impressive prices.
It has been almost a year since the company released OnePlus Two. Unsurprisingly, fans of the phone manufacturer are already looking towards the unveiling of the OnePlus 3. Unlike Samsung, Apple and other phone manufacturing companies, OnePlus has no known phone cycle. Fortunately, according to speculations, the OnePlus 3 is only weeks away from being officially announced.
PC Advisor claims that the upcoming OnePlus smartphone is due to be unveiled before the end of this month. According to their sources, there is a possible the phone would be confirmed as early as May 18. PC Advisor further reveals that the OnePlus 3 should be available for purchase early next month.
Like the release date, not much is certain about how much the upcoming phone would be selling for. However, according to a OnePlus employee the OnePlus 3 would be selling for approximately 1,999 yuan or roughly $308 for the 4GB RAM and 32 GB storage version. The 6GB RAM with the 64 GB storage is expected to go for a little bit higher.
As for the OnePlus phone's design and specifications, Pocket Lint claims that the OnePlus 3 would almost be identical to the OnePlus 2 at least on their measurements. Moreover, according to OnePlus founder Carl Pei a new design for the OnePlus line would be unveiled for the OnePlus 3.
The phone is also expected to come in three different screen sizes - a 5 inch, a 5.2 inch and a 5.5 inch version. Tech insiders claim that the OnePlus 3 would be equipped with an upgraded 15 megapixel rear camera and a 7 megapixel front camera. It is said to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and would be able to support microSDs for expanded storage. Finally, like its OnePlus 2 predecessor, the OnePlus 3 would have at least a 3300 mAh battery capacity.
