Pokemon Go announced the new Buddy System update on Saturday, but after a few days, the Pokemon companion is still nowhere to be found. Some Apple and Android users have not received the Pokemon Buddy yet, and many are wondering when Niantic will release it.

According to Forbes, the update is being rolled out to Android users. However, iOS users are still waiting for Apple's approval.

Pokemon Go players using iOS devices are yet to get the Buddy System update. Many Android users are also waiting for it as well. Some players claim to have been able to get the new update through APK.

The delay could be due to Niantic's controversial elimination of support for jailbroken and rooted devices. The company is reconsidering this move after it received a backlash from the players.

While gamers wait for the update, some have figured out a way to keep up. Apple users can log into their Pokemon Go account using an Android device that already has the update. They can pick their Pokemon Buddy and log off to log back on their iOS device. The app will be able to track how far they have already walked with their buddy with their iOS device.

In other news, the Pokemon Go geolocation feature has shown a player being assaulted and mugged in Central Park. The incident happened near the Sweeny Memorial Bench Pokestop while Twitch game streamer "Rickeybot's" live streaming rig was turned on.
