LG announced that the LG V20 went through 60,000 stress tests before it was put on the market. However, there are reports that the V20 glass panel, which covers its camera, is shattering on its own.
According to 9to5google, several LG V20 owners have taken to Reddit to complain about the phone's fragile camera glass.
Some users claim that they received the phone with a shattered camera glass while others noticed cracks only after a few days of use even though the device had never been dropped at all. A user showed cracks radiating from the LCD, indicating that it broke under its glare. It appears that the glass component is fragile. YouTube user JerryRigEverything previously put the LG V20 to an extreme torture test. While the camera glass did not get scratched easily, it shattered shortly after.
The LG V20 does not come cheap, with Sprint selling it for a full retail price of $792 USD. For that price, owners would surely be upset over a scuff or dent.
Carriers are said to have quickly responded to complaints. However, LG is likely to conduct further investigations before making a statement.
"Received my V20 today and noticed that the glass on the camera was cracked about 5 hours later," a Reddit user posted. "Talked to T-Mobile support via Twitter and they are sending me a new phone so I'm happy with the resolution."
The highly-anticipated LG V20, which features a secondary screen, is set to be released in the United States on Oct. 28.
