Samsung is facing a crisis after the Galaxy Note 7 debacle and to attract its loyal customers back, the company is allegedly planning to give Galaxy Note 7 customers a discount on the upcoming Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and Galaxy Note 8.
The Galaxy Note 7 hit the market in August and soon after there were several reports of the device's battery exploding. Samsung recalled the device and stopped its sales worldwide.

Even replacement devices sent out by Samsung were found to have the same fault. This has led to outrage and mistrust among loyal customers. Some are allegedly considering to file lawsuits against the company.
According to Phandroid, in an attempt to make it up to its buyers, Samsung plans to give discounts on the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus and Note 8 to customers who refused to return their Galaxy Note 7 devices. Only 10 percent of around 500,000 owners sent their devices back.
The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are likely to be released at the Mobile World Congress 2017 on Feb. 27 next year in Barcelona. Samsung will launch two Galaxy S8 models: one with 2K 5.1-inch display and another with a 5.5-inch 4K screen called Galaxy S8 Plus. Both devices are expected to sport curved Super AMOLED displays with a resolution of 3,840x2,160 and a pixel density of 806 pixels per inch (ppi).
The Galaxy S8 is expected to use the 10nm chip with the VR technology. The 10nm process involves an advanced 3D structure with improvements in design and process technology which are much higher than the 14nm process. This is expected to result in a 27 percent performance increase and 40 percent power consumption decrease.
The smartphone is expected to come with the Exynos 8895 with ARM's new Mali-G71 for its GPU or the next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor. Whichever processor Samsung will use, the device will certainly feature an increased RAM for improved virtual reality support.
