"Final Fantasy 7' remake may feature a possible 2017 launch date and a rumored cameo appearance from "Final Fantasy XIII" character Lightning.
Square Enix game producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed there plans for "Final Fantasy 7" remake's development as they aim to make progress in the game within this year. Kitase told Famitsu (via Siliconera) that 2016 is the year of preparation for "Final Fantasy 7" remake and wanted to create a new kind of value for the PlayStation 4 console for the next announcement.

Although the game producer did not elaborate "Final Fantasy 7" remake's release date, several reports and speculations claim that the game could launch could launch sometime in 2017 as it marks the 20th Anniversary of "Final Fantasy 7" in Square Enix's history.
Square Enix revealed a number of new features for "Final Fantasy 7" remake as they plan on having every character in the game fully voiced as game director Tetsuya Nomura stated that he and Nomura could have the voice actors from "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" worked on the main characters, while they are searching for new talent to voice the other characters.
Kitase added that the "FFVII" remake could have a dating feature and explained that it will be different than the original game. "Final Fantasy 7" remake may also have some open-world features as Kitase explained that Nomura is working on the scenery as they want to express an environment character that affects the scenery.
Square Enix added that they would look to expand the game's storyline in "Final Fantasy 7" remake since they have planned for an episodic release of the game. The expanded storyline will allow gamers to have a different experience while retaining its original feel for gamers who have played the sequel and new gamers that have yet to play it. The combat system for the game is now purely action-RPG instead of the original turn-based style gameplay from the original game and players can control characters like Cloud Strife and Barret Wallace individually.
In other news, its seems that Square Enix plans on having a guest character in "Final Fantasy 7" remake as "Final Fantasy XIII's" main protagonist Claire "Lightning" Farron is rumored to appear in the game.
Lightning is recently feature as a new virtual model for Louis Vuitton as she told Telegraph that she has several upcoming projects as she stated that she will return in "a world of strife" soon, but explained that she will be a new person.
Several gaming fans speculated that Lightning might return to a Final Fantasy game and everyone points at "Final Fantays 7" remake as plausible stage for her comeback.
Lightning is the main protagonist of "Final Fantasy XIII" in the PlayStation 3 era and has starred in two of its sequels, "Final Fantasy XIII-2" and "Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII"
"Final Fantasy 7" remake will be available in PlayStation 4 console.
