When the original Watch Dogs game was released, there was a lot of hype ass the aspect of an open-world game puts emphasis on hacking. Although the game was good, its premise of hacking took a backseat and was relegated. With Watch Dogs 2, the game developer is looking to make good on the hacker premise with a whole new character and story.

The game thrusts gamers into a scenario where they have to hack into a building to erase the criminal record of the lead, without even introducing him yet. The new lead character is Marcus Holloway, who is talented, charming, and very different from anti-hero Aiden Pierce in the first Watch Dogs. Although there are similarities to the original, the sequel focuses more on how large corporations and governments use private data for their personal gain.

Moving the setting of the game to San Francisco from Chicago has made it that much more vibrant. The change also allows the game to dive deeper into the problems in Silicon Valley, and at the same time, it is not as serious as its predecessor. By lessening the seriousness, the battle against injustices is more relatable, and it is boosted with a diverse set of supporting characters.

There are also new characters and new hacking tricks to help the gamer progress. The sequel does not squander the premise unlike its predecessor, and the combination of new characters, tools, story, and open mission design philosophy makes for excellent and fluid gameplay.

Watch Dogs 2 goes on sale on November 15 on the PS4, Xbox One, and on November 29 for PC.
